What kills through the PowerShield fast is the HyperBlaster and/or BFG because they are powered by cells (like the PS). Howbeit, the most effective use of the BFG (in this case) is a direct hit, as you can see with 888 on Tool and Tool's attempt with the PS. Play the Tool moaning video on slow motion as well - really grasp the detail. You can see how the HyperBlaster might give you a higher chance of success when breaking through a PowerShield. Furthermore, just block a player's (like Dean) capability of getting the RailGun and he will fold. Dean mainly uses that weapon, which does not make him a well-rounded enough player. Kind of like a one-trick pony. Seen it all before. So there's that. 888 is fluent in several weapons, which makes him more dangerous and proven to be Deadly Master of the Quake Arts.
